PW Series

PW

The Genesis Machinery Products PW series cappers use three spinning rollers to seal vials tight. Two of the rollers provide the initial crimp of the seal while the third acts as a “finisher” to tuck the metal neatly under the vial flange.

Bottom spring pressure controls the stopper pre-compression and is fully adjustable for wide ranges of stopper sizes and durometers.

With the addition of Capper Optimization and the Validation Support Data Package, Genesis makes a commitment to provide technical expertise and customer support before, during and after the sale.

PW 200

PW200The PW-200 Westcapper is a compact tabletop unit designed for laboratory or small manufacturing applications. Vials with caps are loaded onto the intake conveyor. The starwheel indexes the vial to the sealing area. The adjustable spring loaded bottle rest and a fixed pressure block compress the stopper. While under pressure, the skirt of the cap is reformed under the locking finish of the vial by the three spinning rollers. The starwheel now indexes the vial onto the discharge conveyor. Vial flow is from left to right. The capper runs at constant speed of 45 vials per minute. The OSHA compliant safety enclosure is wired to alarm and shut down the capper whenever it is opened during operation.

The PW-200 uses a stainless steel conveyor belt. Standard conveyor lengths are 18 inches on the infeed and 18 inches on the discharge. Stainless steel guide rails on the intake and discharge side of the capper are adjustable. Depending on vial diameter, a 12 point Delran starwheel and intake and discharge guides are required for each vial size.

PW 500

PW500PThe PW-500 Westcapper is a fully automated capper using 3 spinning rollers as the sealing mechanism. The hoppering system uses a turning disk to select caps and transfer them to the chute and the cap feed. As the starwheel indexes, the stoppered vials pass under the cap feed, pick a cap and vials progress to the sealing area. The adjustable spring loaded bottle rest and a fixed pressure block compress the stopper while the skirt of the cap is reformed under the locking finish of the vial. The three spinning rollers roll the skirt into place. The starwheel now indexes the vial onto the discharge conveyor. Vial flow is from left to right. Rolling casters are standard, with stationary legs available as an option. Depending on vial size, the capper has a maximum variable speed of 120 vials per minute. The OSHA compliant safety enclosure is wired to alarm and shut down the capper whenever it is opened during operation.

Conveyor Options

  • Standard conveyors are 18 inches each direction from centerline.
  • Optional 15 inch extensions can be added to standard conveyor.
  • Up to 1 extension on infeed.
  • Up to 2 extensions on discharge.

A conveyor extension may require additional support.
